WINTER
All is in white and fluffy snow:
Night, trees and houses and below,
The winter like my granny knows
It's better not to peep one's nose.
At first my granny blamed the wind,
It hadn't caught the winter's hint,
She had to work herself so hard,
Erect snow-drifts, oh, that's the card.
At midnight she did lost her strength,
Just tried to fall all winter's length,
Though who would let her have a sleep
And throw away the ruling whip?
So granny scattered sparkling pearls,
And powdered highways making curls,
Created carpets by the doors
And suffered much, chained to the oars.
The winter threw her weight around
And bent down fir-trees to the ground,
Presented hats to bushes thus
Then rushed to street lamps as by pass.
My granny moaned and frightened birds,
Calmed down , kept silence afterwords,
Became kind-hearted, clever, slow,
Amused bullfinches spreading snow.
This coverlet was nice and bright
And sent away the boring night.
At last she yawned and closed her eyes,
My winter-granny is so wise.
